The Rain.....weeping or washing?

There are times I absolutely love to sit and listen to the rain. It is so peaceful even when it comes pouring down, making such a loud banging noise. I get this amazing sense of God's presence in the pouring of rain. 

When I was a little girl I used to think that when it rained, God was crying . Even now, all grown up, I feel that those rain drops coming down is that He is weeping for his people, this nation "under God" or at least that's what they say, but actions speak so much more loudly. I know our nation has done everything in its power to remove God from everywhere and everything.....so could it be God is weeping and hurting over all the lost 

I know rain has to do with science and weather, hot/cold air....blah blah blah..... but I can't help but to think its so much more.  Could it be? 

Yet I also can't help but to feel like the rain pouring down is symbolic to a genuine cleansing.....the rain washing over us like the washing of The Word.....making us clean and new again.  He makes all things new....

So could it be that the rain is symbolic to weeping or washing? 

S.E.R.E.

Anyone who really knows me, knows that I love the military. I especially love the Marine Corp. My husband is a former Marine, my grandaddy was a Marine, one cousin served, and the other is still serving, and numerous friends over the years have been Marines. OOHRAH!! 

So recently one of my friends left for SERE training. This is a training that military utilizes to help train the men and women serving in terrorist type settings, and it truly is a beat down training that leaves you bruised, and exhausted to say the least. 

The acronym for SERE is Survive, Evade, Resist and Escape....now keep in mind this is the military training, but what if we put a spiritual twist to it....which I tend to do to most, if not all things.

We are certainly under attack as Christ followers. Under attack from the enemy, spirits, the world, evil rulers, principalites, etc....

Now how about we adapt out thinking to those in combat...

SURVIVE the enemy's attack and the arrows that pierce our heart/spirit.

EVADE the attacks, satan and every attempt he throws at you, evade the snare, the trap he has                  set for you and I.

RESIST the temptation to sin / miss the mark, resist the temptation to hurt others, resist the                            temptation to gossip and spread lies about others.......

ESCAPE  the clutches of satan, and escape into the refuge of Jesus Christ

I don't know about you, but I refuse to live a life of defeat or despair no matter what is going on in the world around me. 

I choose to SERE!!

The Good News

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, Because the Lord has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.....

Well, if God has anointed us and empowered us to do all these things, why are we so afraid to share the gospel with those that we love? We don't want to offend anyone? Lest we forget that Jesus himself said that if we are ashamed of Him, He will be ashamed of us before The Father!

okay....so I've wanted to start this thing a million times. Well I have finally arrived at this oh so pivotal moment in my life. I AM A BLOGGER!!! A bit excited at the fact that I can just sit here and the words just click under my fingers. Well, it's just a start, so I still gotta figure this out.
